"CRERIBOVOL™" BY MPA SUPPLEMENTS: CREATINE-RIBOSE-CELL-VOLUMIZER FOR POST-WORKOUT RECOVERY
Back in the day, the "post-workout" window was the talk of the hour when it came to bodybuilding and dietary supplementation. The old ads you would see in bodybuilding magazines during the 2000's often were super overwhelming with men in white coats holding glass beakers that were accompanied by loud claims of specific ingredients blown completely out of proportion. This was how they got the innocent reader on the hook and reeled them in for the purchase: cool pictures and insane claims of the effects of certain ingredients.
Some of these products could very well have been good products but the science simply just was not where it needed to be back then. In those times, it was very common to see products loaded with excessive amounts of dextrose or glucose to facilitate insulin signalling to induce the uptake of nutrients in the body.
The whole idea was to ignite a very strong insulin surge through a massive sugar load, which would then make sure creatine, glucose and protein was transported directly into starved muscle cells, which actually seemed great on paper at the time (it actually produced great results in terms of muscle gains for ectomorphic-somatotypes or "hard gainers"). The thing was, though, the rest of the consumers utilising the sugar bombs that where these post-workout formulas gained around 10 lbs in a little more than a couple of days, which was all nothing but straight water retention, of course. It got worse too because after having gained that amount of water weight over 3-4 days, these people would start replacing it with actual fat tissue accrual. This is very unfortunate and happens because of excess sugars storing into fat cells or causing high levels of insulin in the body to drive dietary fat into adipose sites.
Renowned bodybuilding coach and MPA Supplements product creator, Matt Porter, was someone who actually responded quite well to those creatine-sugar concoctions, but being the innovator and perfectionist he is, he is well aware that most people would just get watery, soft and fat from them, so he created a brand new and exciting post-workout formula that does exactly what it was supposed to have done 12-15 years ago. He can now proudly present to you: "CreRiboVOL™."
The goal was to create a formula that would potentiate the production of insulin yet not flood the body with an excess amount of carbohydrates. Insulin in itself is a very interesting growth promoting compound since it can make all tissues grow. This is why you must absolutely be careful and wise about your nutrition when insulin levels are elevated.
"CreriboVOL™" uses 3 main ingredients to potentiate the production of insulin:
- Pharmaceutical grade L-Leucine (AjiPure™)
- Highly Branched Cyclic Dextrin (Cluster Dextrin™)
- 4-hydroxyisoleucine (Promilin™)
Right off the bat, you might be asking: why did Matt Porter only use 10 grams of Cluster Dextrin™? His answer is simple and to the point:
1). It possesses a synergistic effect with 4-hydroxy-isoleucine and L-Leucine for augmenting an insulin response.
2). The old school formulas were absolutely stuffed and loaded with simple sugars and most of the time it just made people fat and bloated.
3). An over abundance of carbohydrates are not needed to spike insulin for creatine uptake in the body, and the whey protein shake that should immediately follow "CreRiboVOL™."
4) It allows both athletes who are in a contest preparation/dieting phase and ones who are in an off-season scenario/gaining phase to utilise "CreriboVOL™" since the carbohydrate content is minimal.
5). Matt Porter does not want to be like other companies out there and cheapen up his products with worthless fillers or excessive simple sugar carbohydrates.
If we were to break down the actual name of the product, "Cre-Ribo-VOL", there are two parts of it in particular that are interesting: "Cre" and "Ribo." "VOL" is simply short for "Volumizing" and something Matt Porter has used for a lot of his MPA Supplements products since they act as cell volumizers.
First off, we have "Cre." The ingredient in question is here is good old creatine. Creatine monohydrate to be exact and the specific one used here is CreaPure® - a German grade creatine. It is probably widely known and recognized that creatine monohydrate has stood the test of time in terms of effectiveness. Often times, novices and beginners are fooled into buying way overpriced versions of creatine that companies have marketed to be the next big thing. Sadly, this is simply not true and even though the list of creatine types is long and some of them may sound great on paper, it is not something that Matt Porter would ever consider filling his product with. Instead he used a simple micronized creatine made by Creapure®. The dose sits at 10 grams per serving, which is what is needed to produce optimal results from Matt Porter's personal experience.
Matt Porter wanted to augment not just insulin, but also muscle protein synthesis via mTOR ignition. A whey protein could very well do this, but it would bog down digestion when ingested in conjunction with CreRiboVOL™. L-Leucine is exactly what triggers the actual mTOR respone from the whey protein and that is why 5 grams of pharmaceutilcal grade AjiPure™ L-Leucine has been included in the formula as well.
Next up in the name of the product is the word "Ribo", which is short for Ribose. D-Ribose to be exact. Matt Porter thinks that this carbohydrate is very underrated and greatly overlooked. It is a glucose derivative that is very unique because of the fact that it does not skew blood sugar levels like conventional straight glucose. The main purpose of having it in the "CreRiboVOL™" is to replenish Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) stores found in skeletal and heart muscle within the body. Actually, ribose displays cardioprotective properties and may alleviate ischemia (blood restriction) conditions in the heart muscle - a very neat function. "CreRiboVOL™" features the true and tried BioEnergy™ Ribose brand in a dose as big as 5 grams per serving. Another thing that is relevant to look at is the 4-Hydroxy-IsoLeucine ( Promilin™) , which is a constituent of Fenugreek seeds that displays strong insulinotropic effects that coincide perfectly with the small amount of Cluster Dextrin™ found in each serving of this product.
One study compared 200 mg of 4-Hydroxy-IsoLeucine and 3.5 grams of creatine monohydrate to the standard 75 grams of fattening dextrose sugar along with the same amount of creatine monohydrate. The results revealed that the 4-Hydroxy-IsoLeucine and creatine monohydrate group gained the same amount of lean body mass (LBM) as the dextrose and creatine monohydrate group did in 8 weeks. In other words, you can expect to reap the mass gaining benefits of creatine monohydrate without having to deal with unnecessary water retention and body fat accumulation that inevitably goes along with formulas loaded full of sugar.
The benefits of 4-Hydroxy-IsoLeucine include enhanced production of insulin, increased insulin sensitivity, decreased glucose intolerance and the fact that it works in concert with the Cluster Dextrin™ and L-Leucine to magnify the insulin response post-workout for creatine transport to the muscle cells.
The carbohydrate of Matt Porter's choice was Cluster Dextrin™ - the absolute best. Claiming that straight dextrose or maltodextrin in a small dose of 10-ish grams could not get the job done when we are talking pulsing insulin initiation would simply be untrue, but who would not want to actually feel good when eating or drinking any product? That is why CreRiboVOL™ does not contain any cheap source of carbohydrates like dextrose or maltodextrin. Due to the molecular structure of Cluster Dextrin™, it will absorb and bypass through the small intestine at an incredibly fast pace. Its' low osmolality makes for rapid gastric-emptying which ultimately means that it is "in and out" and you will be ready for your next meal without your appetite or digestion having to suffer.
An ingredient that might seem a little out of place here is Bromelain. The idea is simple, though: digestion is everything when it comes to your nutrition. Matt Porter ultimately intended this product to be taken before ingesting other nutrients (food) and thus wanted to set you up perfectly for being able to digest it all properly. Bromelain is a proteolytic enzyme derived from the cores of pineapples. It basically does the job of digesting protein, which is perfect since a serving of CreRiboVOL™ should have a meal following it. There is a big possibility that this very ingredient could potentially make your whey protein shake or other food work much better. Bromelain will help break down and "pre-digest" the whey into di- and tri-peptides, which will absorb way quicker and kickstart the recovery process.
CreRiboVOL™ by MPA Supplements is made for individuals who are dieting and also the ones in an off-season/mass gaining phase. Both types of athletes will be able to reap the benefits of this product because of the minimal carbohydrate content; the dieting one can easily watch his carb intake while the mass gaining one can simply supplement his diet that is already high in carbs with it.
How to use CreRiboVOL™: Matt Porter recommends that you start ingesting CreRiboVOL™ either immediately after resistance training, or if people are using an intra-workout drink and already feel bloated and watery - wait until 30 mins. after finishing that intra-workout drink. Since CreRiboVOL™ is basically pre-digested, you should not wait longer than 15-20 mins. to consume either a whey protein shake or an actual food meal afterwards. This will set you up with the perfect anabolic environment for the most optimal recovery process.
You can be absolutely sure that Matt Porter only used clinically dosed ingredients of the very highest quality available. As he always says: MPA Supplements are professional products for professional results.
